LuShae Jewlery

American Eagle skinnies.  Hot Kiss booties.  Express Cardigan.  Thrifted belt.  Target tank. Assorted rings.

Not too long ago the lovelies at LuShae Jewelry asked me if I would review a piece of their jewlery, and I couldn't have been more thrilled.  LuShae has a bunch of sparkly pendants, earrings and bracelets, but I was most impressed by their variety of rings.  They have great, statement making rings and really beautiful promise rings too!  I chose the Amethyst World Wonder ring for it's interesting and unique shape.

The shipping was really prompt and I had the ring in my possession by the next week.  The faceted Amethyst which makes up the most of the ring is really pretty and catches the light.  I was a little disappointed that the paved sections of the ring were not as glittery as I expected (you know I love shiny things!) but it doesn't detract from the ring's charm.

I have little fingers, so ring sizes are always an issue for me, but LuShae is kind enough to carry all the way down to size 5!  This ring appears to run a little big though, so be aware.

LuShae specializes in getting precious and semi precious stones, pearls, and precious metals in their jewelry and to their customers at extremely attractive prices.  They've also been adding a lot of new inventory lately, and there are a bunch of pieces that I want!

Check LuShae out!

Short Story

It is well documented on this blog that I have a lack of shorts in my life. I have one pair of plain denim shorts from Forever 21. When I return home and start working my two jobs in two weeks, this is going to need to change. Here are some options that interest me.

2. Asos
5. Diesel via Revolve
6. Asos

Definitely in love with the Asos slashed bike shorts, and they're only around 16 dollars.  I think I will be ordering them in the near future.

What are you currently missing from your spring/summer wardrobe?

Ennui

8 more days of classes, 2 finals, 3 papers, and 1 portfolio away from summer. All of this will occur in...16 days time. How. Marvelous. Just so you know, these posts will probably get rather sporadic over the next 16 days, and I'm concerned for the state of our internet connection at home...which may halt my production. Hi Dad! Fix the internet! PLEASE. Okay. Now that that's out of the way, I figured I'm going to be random today, because that 10 page paper still lacks 5 pages, I have a rehearsal tonight, and, life is just ridiculous right now.

I'm kind of obsessed with this necklace by Passionflower right now.

I'm also thinking about books to read over the summer, since that is the only time that I get to read books of my own choosing.  The list is getting really long, but I'm totally up for more suggestions if you guys have read anything awesome lately.  I love things with a philosophical slant (philosophy major), so books like that especially.

I'm also getting into photography, not taking pictures, just appreciating it.  In my Amazon cart right now I have The Sartorialist's book, as well as The Selby's.
I'm in love with Hedi Slimane's photography as well, but his books are either weird, expensive, or impossible to find.  Any other fans of his out there that have had luck with this?

Hope my college readers are surviving the end of their spring semesters too!

"In the blueness of her eyes I saw the faraway shoreless seas of the North."

Just read Season of Migration to the North for methods, and am completely obsessed with it. This line makes me think of how I've been imagining my trip to England since the program accepted me.

F21 leggings and tunic (thrifted). Thrifted belt. Random vendor and gifted rings. Target tank. Frye gladiators. Fossil watch. Gifted bracelet and pendant.

I have a 10 page paper due on Thursday, I have only written 2 of those pages, and our prof canceled class today so we could have extra time. I am going to go utilize that time, and this casual outfit is probably going to get even more casual. Wish I had more time to chat!

If only it was just a bit warmer.

Thrifted Banana Republic dress, ring, belt, scarf. F21 rings. UO flats.

It's bright and sunny but in the 50s. Where did the 80 degree weather go? COME BACK!

Wasn't feeling pants today even though it's a bit chilly. Kind of wish I could be wearing socks without looking like a dork.

Public Affair

Last night was Christine and Sabrina's sorority formal, and Erin and I were dates, so we got all dolled up and were shuttled over to this fantastic Greek restaurant to mingle and stuff our faces.

H&M Garden Collection dress. Andrew Marc heels. Zara blazer. F21 and Charlotte Russe rings. Charlotte Russe necklace. Bag borrowed from Christine.

This is what I snapped up from the H&M Garden collection when I was home over Easter. I'm totally in love with the shoulders made stronger by girly frills, which is interesting since I was previously so against this trend resurfacing. I wanted to toughen it up a bit with my chain necklace and a two finger ring, just so I didn't look overly sweet.

I apologize for the quality of these shots. We took them in the Science Center (that's right, a place where I almost never go) while we were waiting for our shuttles to the restaurant, and they were not my favorite, but we were unable to take more there and I assumed there would be lots of pictures taken at the restaurant. There were...but we were OUTSIDE. It was freezing, and I kept my blazer on the whole time and no one saw my amazing frill covered shoulders. So. Sad. I also forgot to take a picture of the back of my hair and a close up of my shoes. I'm terrible. Forgive me.

The Dandelions are Out!

F21 shorts and bird ring. AE bracelets. Thrifted belt and chain bracelet. Target tank. Norma Kamali for Wal Mart vest. Lucky Brand Necklace. Havianas.

Today initially seemed like an outfit fail, I really wanted to bare my legs to the sun in this 74 degree weather, but I only own one pair of shorts (that you've seen several times) right now, and It's hard to keep getting creative. Then the inspiration fairy tapped me on the shoulder, and this was the result. I'm really starting to feel the lack of shorts on the hot days; I found the most perfect pair of soft, tan, high waisted shorts in the H&M garden collection when I was home over Easter, but they didn't have any size 6s anymore! Still mad about it.

I do have a lot of love for this grandpa cardigan vest though, and for the copious amounts of vintage belts I keep finding, like this one. Also from the one dollar bag.

Sidenote: Was totally excited to photograph against this wall. Usually it's blocked by someone's car. That is all.

Zanies and Fools

Guess short pants. F21 top. Wet seal pearl necklace. Thrifted belt and necklace. Urban Outfitters flats.

This is one of the belts I picked up at a thrift store bag sale I mentioned a little while ago. I really like the detail in it. These short pants were picked up on sale and while I love the weird wash, the denim is kind of stiff and scratchy. Hopefully they'll get better after a few washings.

The warmth has returned! It's been sunny but cold lately and that drives me crazy, because I think I should be warm, but I'm actually quite cold, and it becomes an internal struggle. But today, it's glorious.

You know what else is glorious? Good conversation. Yesterday I began my day with a pretty awesome talk with one of my profs, totally unexpected, about blogging and writing and living in california (where I will end up, by the way). Spent my lunch hour having a long talk with friend Kirsten too, which was equally rewarding. I don't know what it is, but something about having a good conversation makes me happy.

Hope you're enjoying this beautiful day!

Does this make me too nerdy?

I'm kind of obsessed with tetris. It's almost like a sickness...boyfriend and my roommates can attest to it. So when googling it today just for kicks (I am completely dedicated to Tetrisfriends.com) I found some cheeky tetris t shirts. And I kind of want one?

I haven't worn printed t shirts in forever, but Wildfox has got me changing my mind with their BA designs. These of course, aren't BA, but I think they're cute! In a...I'm a super nerd kind of way. Too much? Eh, probably.
