Singles Aware

I have no stereotypical bitter woman rant about the holiday fast approaching us, nor do I have the unexpected single girl appreciation for it that will make me talk to you about love for yourself and beauty in the world.  Frankly, I am indifferent.  My current love life makes me either let out a manic laugh of exasperation or stare for an hour or so at the industrial white walls of my apartment without gaining clarity, so I've decided not to care.  In preparation for the holiday, I just polished off a tub of Valentine corn (candy corn in pink, red, and white. they need to start making this for every holiday, like the Peeps people did), and I have some vague plans about going to the movies with the roommates or going to see a free concert or something.

The one thing upcoming Vom-up-all-your-love-for-each-other day has inspired within me is a need to have more pale pink in my closet.  I am not a woman against pink, and I just realized that I don't really wear it a lot or own it, and I think baby pink compliments the whole pale skin, fair hair, light eyes thing I got going on.  So if my bank account wasn't on a respirator - behold what I'd wear on the controversial day:

I like the idea of layering the filmy blouse under the sweatshirt, and showing off the adorable wedges with the pegged jeans.  And I mean, with the pockets on those jeans you're just begging the boys to check out your butt and give yourself a bit of a Vday ego boost.

If you're more decisive about your valentine stance and you come down on the positive side (or you just like to read good writing), you should clicky click on over to the blog Valentine's Day written by the endlessly clever and lovely Becca.  Also, if a boy were to write me a note like this one that Sid Vicious wrote for Nancy, I think I'd be on the Vday team.  I'm a simple girl.  Ciao bellas!

Bleeding Hearts of the World Unite!

BDG leggings. Wildfox Couture tee. Frye boots. Candie's vest.

I may have gone to bed at about 3am, but I still had to get up early to take a trip to Buckingham Palace this morning. The rooms in the palace are so opulent, it's incredible. I feel like I could never be comfortable in them, but I guess the state rooms aren't exactly for relaxing. The garden was what I liked best though; there was a lake I wanted to stretch out and contemplate next to.

Bought myself this wildfox tee yesterday as a birthday present. It was on sale at a boutique called Ad Hoc on King's Road, which was awesome because usually Wildfox's stuff is out of my price range. I can't remember the last time I bought a t shirt with something printed on it, but I really like the cheekiness of this bleeding heart one. The faux leather vest was an unexpected find a few days before I left for london, and I love love this acid washed jeggings. When I came out of the dressing room wearing them, I said to my mother "Mom, aren't they MAGIC!?" Her answer? A very flat "No." My mother is morally opposed to acid wash because it's "So 80s". But Ma, that's why I love it.

Does this make me too nerdy?

I'm kind of obsessed with tetris. It's almost like a sickness...boyfriend and my roommates can attest to it. So when googling it today just for kicks (I am completely dedicated to Tetrisfriends.com) I found some cheeky tetris t shirts. And I kind of want one?

I haven't worn printed t shirts in forever, but Wildfox has got me changing my mind with their BA designs. These of course, aren't BA, but I think they're cute! In a...I'm a super nerd kind of way. Too much? Eh, probably.

I love

Being ill just makes me want to wear really soft t shirts all day every day and put in little to no effort when I get dressed in the morning. You know who does t shirts really well? Wildfox Couture.

I'm digging

Love the slouchy cut of this one, the bubblegum hue, and basically how it's cutesy but laid back.

For me, thunderbolts = Vince Noir = they always make me want whatever they're printed on.

Well, of course.

This is my personal favorite. Kind of, need it. Even though methinks mother wouldn't approve. Hi mom!
