The Boosh Is Loose

So, sometimes I get inspired by television shows. Not the "trashy tv" that boyfriend and I like to watch at the end of the day for some giggles, but the tv I actually love. The Mighty Boosh inspires me in a lot of ways that I won't get into, but for those of you who watch it, you know that despite their crazyness, the getups that Noel Fielding's character Vince Noir wears are actually pretty cool. There are two things in particular I have wanted since I began watching this show.

Something resembling the mirror ball suit:

Unfortunately, there's no where that I go in my life that would be appropriate for me to wear a full body mirror ball suit copied from this. I also would never look as ridiculously hot in it as Noel does. Ahem. But there are other alternatives...

Found this skirt at H&M in New York when boyfriend and I were in the city to see the Colbert Report (boyfriend is actually being a good sport and holding the skirt up for the picture). When I saw it I immediately thought of the mirror ball suit. If I can find one at my local H&M when I'm back home for Spring Break, I really must try it on, and hopefully buy it. It's glorious. I'm just wary about the odd stitching.

A poncho, since "It's impossible to be unhappy in a poncho!"

I'll have to disagree with Vince on one point though, you can be unhappy in a poncho if you don't think you can pull it off quite like he can. Today I stumbled upon a beautiful "cloak" alternative:

But at 900 dollars it is way WAY out of my price range. Totally the kind of poncho-esq garment I'd love to own though.

What are your wacky television inspired fashion ideas?
