Adventures in Jersey Part Deux

An adventure, by nature, necessitates odd or unexpected turns of events, correct? Then yesterday's adventure fits the bill, just like the adventure with boyfriend did. Best laid plans and all that.

Kimberly and I had a plan to thrift, and ingenious plan. While searching for Jersey thrift stores (actually difficult) Kimberly found an article about a thrift shop in Moorestown that was supposedly, fantasticamazingohmygodIwanttogothererightnow. She sent me the article. I was sold. We stuck Tim to my windshield, punched in the address, and began the two and half hour trek through Jersey.

Well, whoever owns the Moorestown Friends Thrift Shop has a really good friend who wrote that article. The place was tiny, all the designer goods with the price tags still on them that we had been promised? No where to be found, I picked up two items that were nice, but not at all the amazing that Kim and I had been expecting. And Alas! We drove two hours! After a regroup stop at the local mall for food and bathroom stops, we headed home, found a goodwill that was a bust, stopped at Woodrow Wilson for starbucks, And then bought tickets for a showing of Nine at the AMC in rockaway. Two hours to kill? No problem, there's a mall right next to it. And in that mall is a Lord and Taylor, where we can try on dresses!

Dress found at Marshall's. Urban Outfitter's necklace. Joyce Leslie belt. Old Navy long sleeve top. Jessica Simpson boots.

These are not Lord and Taylor dresses, this is my outfit, which I had Kimberly photograph in the large dressing room. This little dress I found for really cheap at Marshall's and it was very cute in the summer time (and for going out back at school), but it's also very easily winterized. The skirt photographs really blue, but it's actually a bright purple.

These boots you saw in yesterdays post as well, and you're sure to see more of them. I love them so much, they're a little bit motorcycle chick with the shape and the buckles, but the slouchy suede makes them softer, but still cool. I actually get a lot of compliments from boys on these boots. I haven't the faintest idea why.

Okay. Dresses!

The Pucci looking one fit perfectly, I wanted to wear it everywhere. I also really dig black formal gowns, they usually look best on me, and this one was a dream. I especially liked the bejeweled collar. This morning it came to me that it was a little Holly Golightly, but I put it out of mind because...shhhh...I don't like Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Nine was magical, fyi. Daniel Day-Leiws, sexy as hell. Kimberly may have been drooling all over herself. And all of the women, beautiful, wonderful. Judy Dench! How I love you even more. Sophia Loren. SOPHIA! You're presence never fades, you command attention on screen, I ADORE you. Marion Cotillard is in a league of her own these days, she's incredible. Nicole Kidman should always be blonde and singing, Kate Hudson is always fun and Penelope Cruz is always sexy. I'd love to say I'm all Marion's character, smart and stoic, but I'm not. I'm all Kate Hudson, the saucy American, with a little bit of Penelope Cruz thrown in. See it I tell you, you'll be prancing around in almost nothing before you know it.

P.S. Fergie, you did well too.

Ciao!
