I'm gonna getchagetchagetchagetcha

I have never been a shoe person.

That is, until sometime in 2009. I don't know what happened, but I was suddenly struck with a shoe lust so strong that a good pair can stop me in my tracks and induce wide eyes and sharp intakes of breath. Especially heels. I lovveeee heels. It's the illusion of height (which at 5'5", I don't have), the illusion of longer legs (glorious for disproportionate me), the sexy shape they give said legs, and just the general fantastic feeling I get from strutting around in them.

Though a hot pair of stiletto sandals will get me every time, there's another type of shoe that has captivated me and the rest of the fashion conscious for quite some time now: the ankle bootie. I want them in every style, every color, every heel height. But more than anything else, I want these:

Exact reaction I described earlier. I was on my macbook in my room at school (our lovely converted motel room), and I called to Erin. It was something like "You HAVE to see these! I'm in love!" which is something she hears rather often, so she was slow to move it over to my side of the room. In any case, they've been on my mind ever since. I just feel like they're so unexpectedly sexy. At first glance you may perhaps thing you are looking at a large leather hoof, but I just don't see that. I see curves and height that say woman, a hidden platform that says mystery, and simple, smooth black leather that says: "Don't forget, I could still kick your ass if I wanted to", but with a coy smile of course.

For evening I'd wear them with a super sleek mini dress and equally sleek flat ironed locks, which chain detail jewelry to keep up the badass vibe, but I'd probably do my makeup bright and girly. For day I'm feeling skinny jeans, a boyfriend blazer, a sleek ponytail, and a long pendant necklace.

At 130 dollars these are pretty affordable for many, but not for the broke college student, unless they ever go WAY on sale, they're not happening. Alas, but a girl can dream! And she can also dream of cheaper versions of the cheap version. If anyone knows of a pair more in the broke college girl price range, PUH-LEASE let me know!
