"Things that You Can Recycle"

Despite the saga that was yesterday's thrifting adventures, I did find a few pieces that pleased me.

Thrifted Polo Sweater. Thrifted Banana Republic dress (worn under sweater). Wet Seal boots and necklace.

I enjoy the oversized Ralph Lauren golf sweater to no end, I've always wanted an 80s/90s era chunky sweater. The blue dress photographs in a much more saturated blue than it actually is, it's far more muted. The dress is also very cute when not hidden by a sweater, it's body conscious with long sleeves, but it's freezing out people. I need layers.

At an inadvertent stop at Wet Seal during the "we're killing time at the mall before seeing Nine" period, I found that the clearance racks there would become my new best friends. These unusual brown booties were purchased for a mere 15.99. Yes, they are not well made and no, they are not super comfortable, but let's be serious, I'm not running marathons in them. I adore my black booties and wanted a brown pair so I could actually wear my brown tights more often, and now I have them. I adore they oddly shaped heel so much. It makes me think "cloven hoof". Don't as me why.

Also at this stop I got the necklace. I am very against pearls usually. I hate them, the old-worldiness of them. The prim and proper ladyness of them. But I loved them tangled in among a dull brassy chain to go with and against the preppy sweater. And they were quite the bargain. I don't like to buy accessories for a lot of money. I usually buy them on sale, because I see no point in spending exorbitant amounts of money on costume jewelry that was made for pennies in a factory an American company outsources too. But I insist on not buying something that looks too cheap. This necklace fit the bill for me.

Sidenote.

So, Tyler's going to Peru next week to do something humanitarian and world saving with school. Oh Tyler we will not get to see you before Spring semester starts! So we had a little get together. It involved Wii and Quelf. Quelf produces some interesting fashion statements too.

They might kill me. But look how cute they are! I love my girls.
